Ive noticed a very big decline in keeping parrots in the last decade. Yes they did ban imports etc. A good thing
Maybe the slow uptake in getting members to join the site. Everybody use to know someone who had a parrot.
I see very few aviary's in gardens nowadays.
Took me 2 years to get a scarlet. Even on Facebook very few for sale of any species.
I saw a hand tame buggie in a local pet centre the other day. £275. I had to look twice. Not the whole setup with cage etc. No just the buggie.
Even bird trader has hardly any adverts and the ones which are there are 90 percent scammers.
Any ideas ??

I'd like to think that, if there really has been a decline, it's because people are better informed about the reality of parrots before they actually get one, and the need for rehoming is reduced. I kind of doubt it, though. There are an awful lot of bird rescue organizations offering adoptees.

Here in Ireland I have never heard of a Rescue but there are a lot of places like Bird world where you can go and look at different types of Parrots kinda like a Zoo and of course also the Zoo has some Parrots.Like your Avatar btw.

It's a different story in the U.S. The best and most professional rescue organization I'm aware of is thegabrielfoundation.com in Denver, Colorado. Some of their birds are in sanctuary. They don't list adoptees on their own site, but if you do a search on petfinders.com for Denver bird adoptions, you'll get over 1500 birds available. That's not 100% parrots, but that's just one city here. I can't in good conscience support breeding-for-sale activities here. There is no bar to entry into the breeding business, and no requirement that breeders screen potential owners. I know many are conscientious and truly care about the birds themselves, but there are so many in need of good homes already.

In Canada, the Sanctuarys are full of cockatoos, Amazons and Macaws. The Pois which are my favorite are very rarely ever in a Sanctuary and they are hard to get. I have had to be on waiting lists to get a Brown Headed.

There probably is a rescue in Ireland but I have never heard of one and if not there should be for all those birds needing homes.Im always seeing Cockatoos,African greys and Macaws for sale and sometimes Senegals.
