Clipping is a personal choice but should only really be done for the right reasons. My birds love to fly and I would never clip them again, A flighted bird is a much healthier bird and have a better chance of living longer.
Lots of people clip for the wrong reasons such as worrying their bird might fly out a door or window or worried they might hurt themselves crashing into things or sometimes they think having a *Clipped* bird will make their life with birds easier which in my opinion is just Lazy and anyone who is lazy with their birds shouldn’t own a bird as they are a lot of work. However this is no reason to clip your bird, A clipped bird can fly out the door or window and most likely never be seen again but a Flighted bird is most likely to survive and get home safe.
If your bird crashes into things you can simply prevent that by placing perches on windows and walls where they crash just so they land there instead, Im sure there are many more ways to prevent that happening.
Clipping can have benefits too but like I always say “Clipping causes more problems than it will ever solve” and having a Flighted bird definitely outweighs owning a clipped bird.
Clipped birds are also more likely to become obese and unhealthy, A bird that is clipped properly wouldn’t likely be affected by this, A properly clipped bird is a bird that can glide safely to the floor and not drop like a rock.
If you have any questions to do with *Clipping* just ask.
