I did quite a bit of research on the net. We all know hopefully the foods not to feed a parrot.
They did a bit of research in America on macaws. The ones in the best health and happiness where strangely the ones from the poorest family's who mainly fed human food. The worst where the ones in posh hotels who had a bowl of seed every couple of days.
I imagine its not pie and chips tho.
I feed pellets , bit of seed and loads of fresh fruit and veg as well as nuts. I try and mix it up but theres only so much you can do with the variety of fruit and veg we can buy.
I have been feeding yogurt. Meat such as chicken. Even toffee popcorn. ALL IN SMALL AMOUNTS.
Plumage has improved. Rainbow loves it when she comes out and has the odd treat from my hand. Shes cuddly tame but settles down very quickly when having a titbit.
Has anybody else tried feeding something diffident ?
